Overview

PureWeather is designed with your privacy in mind. We do not collect, sell, or share your personal information. All data is stored locally on your device.

Information We Collect

Location Data
PureWeather requests access to your device's location to provide accurate, real-time weather conditions for your area. Your coordinates are used solely to fetch weather data from third-party weather services. Location data is never stored on our servers — we have no servers.

Weather History
The app stores a local history of daily weather conditions (high/low temperatures, conditions, precipitation chance) on your device only. This data never leaves your phone.

User Preferences
Settings such as temperature units, notification preferences, saved locations, and road trip data are stored locally on your device via iOS standard storage (UserDefaults and App Groups for widgets).

How Your Data Is Used

Your approximate location (latitude/longitude) is transmitted to the following third-party services solely to retrieve weather information:

• Apple WeatherKit — Current conditions, hourly/daily forecasts, weather alerts (Apple Privacy Policy)

• National Weather Service (NWS) — Severe weather alerts (U.S. government public service)

• NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center — Solar and geomagnetic data (U.S. government public service)

• OpenWeatherMap — Air quality data and radar map layers (OpenWeatherMap Privacy Policy)

• RainViewer — Precipitation radar imagery (RainViewer Privacy Policy)

• Aviation Weather Center — METAR and TAF aviation weather reports (U.S. government public service)

• Windy — Live webcam imagery (Windy Privacy Policy)

No personally identifiable information (name, email, phone number, account credentials) is ever collected or transmitted.

Analytics & Tracking

PureWeather contains no analytics SDKs, advertising networks, crash reporting services, or tracking technologies of any kind.

Notifications

If you enable weather notifications, alerts are generated locally based on weather data already on your device. We do not use push notification services that route your data through third-party servers.

Children's Privacy

PureWeather does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The app contains no user accounts, registration, or data submission of any kind.

Data Retention

All locally stored data (weather history, saved trips, preferences) remains on your device and can be deleted at any time by uninstalling the app.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date.
